Dengue fever is a disease caused by dengue virus and spread by mosquitoes. The symptoms of the disease generally start three to four days after the infection. These may be headache, muscle and joint pain, fever, vomiting, and a characteristic skin rash. It usually takes two to seven days for the patient to recover.
